"Felt a bit "dated""
I bought a pack the quality just felt kind of old to me. A few of the presets looked rough once I tried them in my edit, and I had to spend way more time fixing things than I expected. For the price, it just wasn’t really what I was hoping for.

"Good stuff, but the updates are painfully slow"
I used to check VIDEO COPILOT often because the tutorials and plugins were genuinely useful. A lot of the older content still holds up, and there’s definitely some "good stuff" on there if you dig around.
That said, the site feels like it barely gets updated anymore. For something aimed at users who actually rely on the tools and info, I expected more fresh posts, news, or signs of life. It’s not bad, it just feels a little "abandoned" sometimes, and it’s hard to stay interested when nothing new shows up for ages.
"Activation was really frustrating"
I had a frustrating time getting the license activated. It kept failing over and over, and support really took longer than I expected to get back to me. Not the smoothest experience

"Render speed could be better"
I’ll admit I’m a bit biased because I’ve always liked the tools on VIDEO COPILOT, but the render speed has been uneven for me. Some projects run through just fine, and then other times even something simple takes way longer than I expected. It’s not bad enough to make me stop using it, but it definitely gets annoying when I’m trying to finish something quickly. Overall, it’s still usable, I just wish the performance was more consistent...
"The docs were hard to follow, really hard to follow"
I tried going through the docs, but they were hard to follow. Like, hard to follow enough that I had to keep rereading parts and still wasn’t totally sure what to do next.

As someone who shops online often, this site was frustrating to use. It felt messy and confusing, and I had a hard time finding anything without clicking around way more than I should have had to.

"It keeps crashing, and it’s frustrating"
I’m not trying to be overly harsh here, but the app keeps crashing on me and it’s really frustrating. I wanted to give it a fair chance, but it just doesn’t feel stable or reliable enough to use without worrying it’ll mess up again...
"Tutorials were harder to follow than I expected"
I tried going through a few tutorials on VIDEO COPILOT, i got annoyed quickly. A lot of steps felt like they were just glossed over, like I was already supposed to know what button to click or what setting to change. The pacing was kind of all over the place too, so I kept having to pause, rewind, and then look up other videos just to fill in the gaps. Maybe it’s fine if you already know your way around the software, but for someone actually trying to learn, it wasn’t that helpful. I also didn’t really feel like reaching out to customer service because, from past experience with sites like this, I don’t usually trust that I’ll get a straight or useful answer anyway.

"Just didn’t feel worth it"
I felt disappointed after paying for it. For the price, I was expecting a lot more updates and improvements, so it kind of left me feeling like I didn’t really get my money’s worth...

"Kept crashing while I was trying to work"
I was trying to use this plugin in After Effects on a normal evening, coffee on my desk and everything, and it just kept giving me problems. Even with simple scenes, it would freeze up, take forever to load, and then randomly crash. I figured maybe something went weird during install, so I removed it and reinstalled it, but nothing really changed. i spent more time fighting with it than actually working. Not worth the headache for me.

"Installing it was way more frustrating than it should’ve been"
I had a rough time just trying to download and install from videocopilot.net. The links were slow, the installer kept throwing random errors, and I ended up restarting everything multiple times without actually getting anywhere. The instructions weren’t clear either, so I kept checking support stuff and it felt like the same copy-paste answers that didn’t really address my issue. After wasting way too much time on it, I just gave up

"Checkout was such a hassle"
I tried to buy a plugin, but the cart reset on me twice and then the payment page just froze. I clicked the support link hoping for some help, but it didn’t really get me anywhere, which made me feel dismissed. After dealing with it for a while, I just gave up and didn’t buy anything.

I mean, it’s useful and does what it’s supposed to do, so I’ll give it that. But it feels outdated at this point. Some of the info or overall setup just seems like it hasn’t been refreshed in forever, which gets a little frustrating when you’re trying to rely on it

"I’ve jumped onto VIDEO COPILOT a..."
I’ve jumped onto VIDEO COPILOT a handful of times when I was stuck on an After Effects idea and needed something to get my brain moving again. Some of the tutorials are still genuinely useful, especially for little effects tricks or just seeing how someone else builds a shot from scratch. I remember having it open once while drinking cold coffee at like 11 p.m., trying to make a title animation look less boring.
The main thing is that a lot of the content does feel older now. Sometimes the buttons, menus, or general workflow don’t line up perfectly with newer versions of After Effects, so you end up doing a bit of translating in your head. It’s not a huge deal, but it can slow things down if you’re already tired or bouncing between tabs and a messy desktop full of random project files.
Overall, I’d say it’s still worth checking out if you want ideas or want to learn some classic techniques. I don’t use it all the time anymore, but I wouldn’t call it useless either. It’s more like that old hoodie in the closet that you don’t wear every day, but every now and then it’s exactly what you need.

"Frustrating to figure out"
I tried to give it a fair shot, but I had a hard time finding what I needed. Everything felt more confusing than it should, and I kept worrying I was going to click the wrong thing or waste time going down the wrong path. After a while, it just got annoying.
